About Catch Rowing

Catch Rowing is an independent publication covering competitive rowing. We write race reports, form guides and analysis across the international calendar and the classic domestic regattas — and alongside the reporting we publish predictions: our editors’ calls on how events will unfold, left on the record and marked right or wrong as the results land.

The name

The catchis the instant at the front of the rowing stroke when the blade locks onto the water and the boat starts to move because of you. Everything a crew does is in service of that moment arriving cleanly, together, over and over. It seemed like the right thing to name a rowing publication after — the point where preparation turns into speed. We’ve written a full explainer: what the catch is and what a good one looks like.

How we work

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and once a piece is published it becomes a matter of record — it is not quietly rewritten. When we get something wrong, we correct it and say so. If you spot a mistake, tell us at corrections@catchrowing.news.

Predictions are editorial opinion. They are not statements of fact, not advice, and emphatically not betting guidance — our terms say the same thing in longer sentences. What makes them worth publishing is that we keep score in public: every board shows how the call turned out.

Independence

There is no paywall and no advertising network on this site. Reading requires no account, and analytics runs only if you agree to it — the privacy policy describes exactly what we collect, which is little.
